Who We Are
Expert Food Regulatory Consultants Serving Canada & the United States
FTC International Consulting Ltd. is a specialized food regulatory consulting firm based in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia. Since 1999, we’ve been the trusted partner for food manufacturers, pet food producers, cosmetic brands, and natural health product companies navigating the complex requirements of CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration) regulations.
Founded by microbiologist Walter Dullemond, FTC International was built on a simple principle: food businesses need accessible, affordable, and expert regulatory guidance to succeed in North American markets. What started as a one-person consultancy has grown into a specialized team of food scientists, regulatory affairs specialists, and technical consultants serving hundreds of clients from coast to coast.
Our expertise spans:
- Canadian food labeling compliance (CFIA regulations)
- US food labeling compliance (FDA/USDA regulations)
- Nutrition analysis and nutrition facts tables
- Food safety plans (Preventive Control Plans & HACCP)
- Product development and reformulation
- Pet food labeling (AAFCO compliance)
- Cosmetic and natural health product regulations
Our History: From Startup to Industry Leader
1999: Founded with a Mission
Walter Dullemond established FTC International Consulting after more than a decade working in food ingredient technology and applications. Having witnessed countless food manufacturers struggle with regulatory compliance, Walter saw an opportunity to provide specialized, cost-effective consulting services that mid-sized companies could actually afford.
2004: Team Expansion
Eva Savova joined FTC International as Senior Technical Consultant, bringing expertise in chemistry, nutrition labeling, and sports nutrition. Her addition allowed FTC to expand services in regulatory compliance and nutrition analysis for Canadian and US markets.
2010s: Digital Transformation
As regulatory requirements became increasingly complex with the implementation of SFCR (Safe Food for Canadians Regulations) and updated FDA nutrition labeling rules, FTC International invested in digital tools and expanded online services to serve clients more efficiently across North America.
2024-2025: Innovation & Growth
Launch of NutriSymbol, the first free Canadian Front-of-Package Nutrition Symbol Generator, demonstrating our commitment to accessible regulatory tools for food manufacturers. Development of comprehensive digital resources including label compliance checklists, food safety guides, and regulatory training materials.

At FTC International, we believe that effective consulting goes beyond technical knowledgeâit requires understanding your business, your goals, and your unique challenges. Our approach is built on these core principles:
1. Personalized Service We’re not a large, impersonal consulting firm where your project gets passed through multiple layers. We don’t just tell you what the regulations sayâwe help you find practical ways to meet requirements while achieving your business objectives.
3. Clear Communication Food regulations can be complex and technical. We pride ourselves on explaining regulatory requirements in clear, accessible language. Whether you’re a food science expert or a business owner without technical training, we ensure you understand the “why” behind our recommendations, not just the “what.”
4. Proactive Guidance We don’t wait for problems to arise. Our consulting approach anticipates potential issues and addresses them before they become costly mistakes. Whether it’s identifying potential label compliance issues, flagging formulation concerns, or recommending process improvements, we help you avoid problems rather than just fixing them after the fact.

As your business grows and evolves, we’re here to support your changing needs, from your first product launch to international expansion.
